Our Story & Commitment

Spring Valley Farmstead began with a shared conviction - that the Most High designed the earth, and all that inhabits it, with order, purpose, and beauty; mankind is to steward that design well in order to bring glory to the Creator. Husbandry is more than a practice, schematics, or aesthetics. It is a calling to steward the creation around us with reverence. Daniel inherited this land from his father, a fulfillment of the promise to possess the land of our forefathers. Tara, Daniel's wife, shares his passion to work the land - serving others. The two developed a friendship studying scriptures together and discovered a shared passion for husbandry. That connection laid a solid rock foundation for what has led to Spring Valley Farmstead. "Adonai took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and take care of it." - Gen. 2:15

Rooted deep in a valley of the Ozark Mountains, we forage for wild herbs, plants, seeds, and food, we save seeds from every harvest, and carefully cultivate botanicals that provide nourishment (food and/or medicine). In our home, we value sustainability, transparency, and the biblical charge to love the Most High, our Creator, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Our long-term vision is to build a farmstead cooperative that shares herbal remedies and organic produce with underserved communities, groups, and/or individuals. Until then, we labor with joy, sowing seeds of healing and hope - trusting the Creator to provide the increase. "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me, you can do nothing." - John 15:5
